Privacy for Turtle House in ChatGPT

Effective October 10, 2026

Who provides the plugin

Ryan Winiecke operates Turtle House from Texas for users in the United States. This policy covers the Turtle House plugin, connecting your account to ChatGPT, and the event and free-item requests made through that connection. The website privacy policy also describes other Turtle House website features.

For privacy questions or account-data deletion, email r.winiecke@gmail.com.

Information used to connect your account

Turtle House uses your account ID, name, email address, role and access permissions to identify you and enforce account, group and invitation restrictions. If you sign in with a password, Turtle House stores a password hash. If you choose Google or Facebook sign-in, that provider supplies your account identity; Turtle House does not receive your social-account password.

Sign-in uses session cookies. Connecting the plugin also creates authorization records and credentials for the permissions you approve. You can allow event and marketplace reads and, if you choose, reviewed event and item submissions. Your sign-in cookies alone do not authorize plugin tool requests.

Information sent to ChatGPT and other people

Browsing requests can include search words, event types, pagination and event or Offering IDs. Results sent to ChatGPT can contain permitted event titles, dates, times, locations, descriptions, organizer names, capacity, source links and aggregate Going and Interested counts. Free-item results can include Offering descriptions, provider names, units and quantity limits. Event browsing does not return guest lists, invitation records, discussions, bookings or orders.

Preparing an event sends its details, property timezone and chosen audience to Turtle House. The preview returned to ChatGPT includes your account name/contact, the event details, named recipients, visibility and notification consequences. After your explicit confirmation, Turtle House stores the event and shares it with the selected audience. An Everyone audience may make the event publicly visible as described in the preview.

Preparing a free-item request sends the Offering ID, quantity, needed-by date and any notes to Turtle House. The preview includes your name/email and the provider, request details and notification recipients. After your explicit confirmation, your name/email and request details are shared with the provider. The saved request remains pending provider acceptance.

Turtle House stores submission receipts to prevent duplicate creation when a request is retried. It also stores notification recipients, delivery-attempt information and rendered email copies. Email and push delivery depend on preferences and service availability; a saved receipt does not guarantee delivery.

ChatGPT processes conversation content and tool results under its own applicable terms and privacy settings. Share only the information needed for your request, especially in event descriptions and request notes.

Service providers and technical records

Vercel hosts Turtle House and provides file storage; Neon stores application records; Resend processes notification emails. Browser and device push services process push notifications when enabled. Google or Facebook handles sign-in when selected. Google processes support email sent to the published Gmail address. These services receive information needed for those functions.

Hosting and security systems can record technical information such as an IP address, requested address, request time, browser information, response status and diagnostic messages. These records help operate, secure and troubleshoot the service. Authorized operators can access records as needed to provide these functions and handle support and deletion requests.

As checked on October 10, 2026, Turtle House uses Vercel's Hobby plan, which provides one hour of standard runtime-log history. No Vercel log-export drain is configured. This window applies to standard runtime logs; it is not a promise that every provider security record, backup or application record has the same lifetime.

Resend publishes 30-day email/log retention for its Free, Pro and Scale plans and seven-day provider backups. Its provider policy is separate from the saved notification copies in Turtle House's database. Provider privacy and retention information is linked below.

Retention, access expiry and deletion

Event and free-item request history stays until it is deleted or you request account-data deletion. Saved submission and notification records can remain with that history; a retry limit does not automatically delete them.

Connection authorization and refresh credentials have a maximum original lifetime of 30 days. Refreshing does not restart that period. Expired credentials are rejected. Expiry stops access but does not itself delete your website account, events, requests or every stored authorization record. There is currently no Vercel scheduled expiry-cleanup job. Stored records are addressed through cleanup and the account-data deletion process.

Revoking the connection removes its stored grant and related authorization records. A previously issued access token can continue working for its remaining lifetime of approximately ten minutes. Disconnecting does not undo a saved event or item request.

The current Neon point-in-time recovery window is six hours. Separate database branches and saved snapshots can persist beyond that window. They are included in the account-data deletion process; the six-hour window is not a lifetime limit for every database copy.

To request deletion, email r.winiecke@gmail.com from the email associated with your Turtle House account and use the subject “Data Deletion Request.” Ryan handles account-data deletion within 30 days, including saved notification/email records and your data in separate database copies. This describes the operator's confirmed process, rather than automatic removal by the plugin.

Turtle House cannot delete copies in your ChatGPT conversations or recall messages already delivered to someone else's inbox. Manage your ChatGPT copies through ChatGPT and contact recipients about copies they control. Deleting Turtle House's saved email copy does not delete the recipient's copy.

Your choices and younger users

Review permissions when connecting. You can stop using or disconnect the plugin, change available notification preferences in Turtle House, and contact support to request account-data deletion. Review the full preview before authorizing any event or item submission.

The plugin is for people aged 13 and older. Users aged 13 through 17 need a parent or legal guardian's permission. It is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact r.winiecke@gmail.com so Ryan can review it and handle the deletion request.
